Technical information

A gas spring is built up of a piston housing, piston rod, piston and seals. It is filled with nitrogen at a high pressure, to create a counter force of up to 2500 N. Nitrogen is an inert gas, which means it will not burn, explode or is toxic. In addition to nitrogen, the gas spring also contains a small amount of oil. This oil provides optimal lubrication and it also gives the gas spring a hydraulic dampening at the end of the stroke.

Gas springs are maintenance free. You must not lubricate the piston rod with grease or oil. The piston rod must not be painted and should be protected against impact.

Valeryd’s gas springs work in temperatures from -35 degrees Celsius to +90 degrees Celsius. Gas springs must not be overheated or place in an open flame.
